What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Nursing position at HAWTHORN GLEN NURSING CENTER?
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) will report to the Director of Nursing and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the nursing department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for caring for the elderly, strong leadership and management skills, and a commitment to providing quality care and compassion to our residents.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to the nursing staff
- Oversee clinical operations on the floor
- Assist in Admission of new residents
- Ensure that all residents receive the highest quality of care
- Lead staff huddles and meetings
- Provide education/demonstration and competency check off’s with staff
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that the needs of residents are met
- Be available to staff for questions/concerns- on call rotation
- Oversee new hire training
- Report to Director of Nursing areas of concern and be prepared to collaborate on solutions (QAPI)
- Infection Control
Qualifications
- Strong nursing background (preferably in long term care)
- Current LPN or RN license in the state you are working in
- Valid CPR certification
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a tea
