JOB OVERVIEW :
Hawthorn's Summer Music Camp offers students that are currently involved in large ensembles (band and orchestra) at Hawthorn an opportunity to further their knowledge and skills in a fun and welcoming environment. Students are grouped by instrument (band or orchestra) and grade-level (5-6, 7-9).
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Establish and maintain positive professional relationships with students, families, and community
- Coordinate and plan with colleagues as a team member
- Lead large group rehearsals
- Lead small group sectionals
- Instruct on music theory
- Supervise Collaboratively planned indoor and outdoor activities
- Participate in end of camp concert
PERFORMANCE QUALITIES :
Applicants must hold, or be eligible for, a valid Illinois Professional Educator License, including music endorsement. Previous experience teaching instrumental music (band / orchestra) to school age students is preferred.
Reports To : HEI & MusicSummer Administrator
Term : June 23 - July 2 (No programming July 3, 4, All Fridays), 8 : 00 a.m. - 12 : 50 p.m.
Salary : $41 / hour
