QUALIFICATION REQUIRED : BA / BS in related Human Services Field or licensure in medically related field required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

Experience working within OPWDD programs required

At least one (1) year of experience in conducting investigations involving OPWDD programs.

Completion of approved Justice Center investigative training course

Thorough knowledge of state regulations governing incident reporting (14 NYCRR Part 624 and 625, Article 20 of the Executive Law and Article 11 of the Social Services Law), Protection of Individual in Programs certified by OPWDD (Part 633 regulations), and the Justice Center PPSNA (Protection of People with Special Needs Act). Must have flexible hours and ability to work at multiple sites as needed.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED) :

Conduct investigations into situations that may violate the rights and / or protection of people receiving services. These situations include all categories and classifications as defined by the Justice Center PPSNA (Protection of People with Special Needs Act) and OPWDD Part 624 Regulations : Reportable Abuse / Neglect, Reportable Significant, Serious Notable Occurrence, and / or 624 / 625 situations. Complete investigations, IRC Committee recommendations, and follow-up within mandated timeframes. Prepare investigative reports and forward completed reports to supervisor within required timeframes. Assist with internal reviews, as needed, with regard to incident management. Ensure investigations are timely, thorough, and address investigatory issues, as well as identify best practices in accordance with agency policies and regulatory standards. Identify areas of concern during the course of an investigation that need additional follow-up and / or additional reporting. Interface with the OPWDD Incident Reporting Management Application (IRMA) for the purposes of reviewing investigative information related to assigned cases in consultation with the supervisor.
