Job Description
This position involves performing duties as assigned by management in the repair, maintenance, and rebuilding of equipment in the service shop or field. The role requires minimal supervision and involves working safely, efficiently, and capably to meet targets and minimize rework.
Responsibilities
Some key responsibilities include:
- Performing all requirements found in Caterpillar Lubrication & Maintenance Guides.
- Performing new and used equipment start-ups for delivery to end-users.
- Performing Caterpillar updates as directed by Caterpillar.
- Removing, installing, reconditioning, and repairing engines and making necessary adjustments on the engine and its components.
- Performing diagnostic tests on engines.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- One of the following: successful completion of an apprenticeship program, graduation from an accredited technical school with emphasis on diesel engine or earthmoving repair, or two years of experience with hands-on mechanical repair on diesel engines or earthmoving equipment.
- A valid California Class C driver's license and a clean driving record.
