Hawthorne Race Course is the 2nd oldest family-owned and operated race track in the nation and the most historic sporting venue in Illinois. On July 30, 2020, the Illinois Gaming Board unanimously approved Hawthorne’s plan to develop Illinois’ first racino entertainment complex featuring both casino-style wagering, sports-betting and horseracing. This $400 Million redevelopment will transform the 130 year old race track as well as the entire Illinois horseracing industry and create one of the most exciting entertainment destinations in the Midwest.
The Guest Service Representative is the primary point of contact between the customers and the company. The position is multi-functional across a broad spectrum of guest service responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Consistently promote a positive, professional image of Hawthorne.
- Register patrons into a rewards program gathering all customers’ information.
- Assist with online wagering operations including daily balancing.
- Participate in helping with special events and activities on and off-site.
- Perform routine cleaning of work areas as needed.
- Maintain supplies for Guest Services front counter area.
- Respond to inquiries received by mail or e-mail from customers.
- Assist in questions/comments or compliments from customers.
- Act as front counter representative for day of all activities and duties as directed.
- Perform other assigned duties from time to time requested by Guest Services manager.
Hawthorne Race Course is looking for a person to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers and supervisors as well as customers. An outgoing personality who enjoys meeting/dealing with people. Ability to provide concierge-level services to customers and potential customers by exceeding their expectations at all times: The “WOW” factor! Provide excellent customer services at all times and works well in a progressive, Team-oriented environment.
This position includes evenings, early mornings, weekends, holidays and split shifts as needed. Applicant must be 21 to comply with Illinois Gaming Board regulations.
Fluent in Spanish or Mandarin Chinese a plus. Part time positions available starting at $15 per hour.
