Position Purpose
The Operations Manager is responsible for providing maximum pharmaceutical services and keeping the pharmacy running at top performance levels. The Operations Manager works under the direct supervision of the dispensing Pharmacy Manager to perform all the technical duties of a Pharmacy Technician, and ensures that Pharmacy Technicians have the resources necessary to perform their jobs. The position provides oversight of the various operational needs of the pharmacy, including monitoring schedules, onboarding, assisting with training and providing input on performance evaluation processes. Additionally, The Operations Manager will assist with Hayat Pharmacy business development and patient retention.

Position Responsibilities
1. Under the direction of the dispensing Pharmacy Manager, provide all regular duties of a Pharmacy Technician, including answering phones, processing prescriptions, preparing prescription for dispensing, labeling, and maintaining customer records.
2. Provide hands-on assistance and supervision to Pharmacy Technicians within the pharmacy, such as handling complex customer issues including but not limited to prescriptions transfers and filling wrong medications.
3. Establish and implement work schedules for Technicians, ensuring that appropriate coverage is available at all times, including when Techs are on vacation, and ensure that any shift changes run smoothly.
4. Monitor attendance and performance of pharmacy staff and reports issues to the District Manager and Human Resources.
5. Support the Pharmacy Manager on issues relating to dispensing specialized items as needed.
6. Provide assistance to establish, implement and monitor control of conventional stock of medications and the ordering and purchase of these. Take a leading role in maintaining pharmacy inventory. Sort, stock and appropriately label medications and check for expired medications.
7. Provide support and assistance for drug transfers, drug recalls, drug audits, and/or completion of controlled substances audits.
8. Enforce all company’s standard rules and procedures including but not limited to pharmacy’s opening, closing and workflow procedures.
9. Working with the Pharmacy Manager and assist with training of new Pharmacy Technicians as required. Help to assess baseline skills of new Technicians, and provide feedback and direction to improve performance as necessary.
10. Monitor and implement quality control standards and other regulations. Responsible for communicating company’s policies and procedures with the pharmacy staff.
11. Comply with and monitor safety measures by adhering to infection-control procedures.
12. Any and all other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma, GED or equivalent is a must. Associate or Bachelor level degree in Pharmaceutical Technology, Healthcare Management or a similar discipline is preferred.
2. CPhT certification, or willingness to obtain such certification in a timely manner, is preferred.
3. At minimum, 3 years of experience working as a Pharmacy Technician. Leadership position in a retail environment is a plus.
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced setting with a resilient attention to detail.
5. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
6. Demonstrable dependability and customer-focused attitude.
7. Basic proficiency in computer skills and the ability to learn software programs.
8. Physically able to stand for extended period of time and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
