Hayes Barton Place is currently hiring for multiple Full-Time Housekeeping positions to join our team! Our community will be opening in January 2025, welcoming our first residents into our Independent Living Community.

Expected working hours will be business hours (8:00/9:00am - 4:00/5:00pm) Monday - Friday. Qualified candidates would have first-class customer service skills, along with experience in housekeeping. Please send an updated copy of your resume when applying.

Purpose:

To clean the following areas: Resident apartments, resident bathrooms, offices, common spaces, dining venues, storage areas, utility rooms, etc. To ensure the cleanliness of all areas of the Community are clean, neat, and odor-free.

Education and Experience:

· Must be a high school graduate.

Essential Job Functions and Requirements:

Full-time Housekeeping works 37 ½ hours per week. Works 7 ½ hours per day with two 10-minute breaks and one thirty-minute lunch break.

1. Follow cleaning guidelines and proper product usage as trained whether for regular weekly cleaning or deep cleaning of apartments/common spaces.

2. Clean assigned common spaces as detailed on cleaning assignment daily.

3. Clean apartments as assigned using the Standard Weekly/Annual Standard Service listing:

a. Empty trash containers in resident kitchen and bathroom(s) and replace liners (3 trash containers maximum per unit.)

b. Dust and mop and/or vacuum all unit floors including bathrooms.

c. Clean bathrooms: floors, countertops, commodes, lavatories, showers, and mirrors in bathrooms.

d. Change bed linen and make bed (two beds maximum per unit.)

4. Clean bedrooms: floors, dust visible furniture.

5. Clean living room: floors, dust visible furniture.

6. Clean kitchen: visible countertops, sink, inside microwave, floors.

7. Clean blinds, windows, baseboards and ceiling fans per schedule.

8. Wear gloves to clean bathrooms and kitchens and wash hands between each unit.

9. Use clean microfiber mop head and microfiber towels for each unit.

10. Dust, mop, and vacuum lobby and to include cleaning countertops and furniture in offices, chapel, conference rooms, etc. as assigned.

11. Follow guidelines for emptying trash and removing trash.

12. Stock soap and paper products in common areas as needed.

13. Clean Housekeeping cart, empty vacuum prior to putting in storage in area. Place soiled mop heads and cleaning cloths in plastic bag and take to laundry at end of shift.

14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Essential Qualifications and Requisites:

1. Must work every other weekend with rest days off during week as applicable.

2. Must attend all mandatory housekeeping department meetings, as well as required Community in-services.

3. Must be able to write and read with clarity sufficient to follow instructions.

4. Must follow cleaning schedules, policies and procedures as outlined in the Housekeeping Policies and Procedures Manual.

5. Must use PPE and Chemicals in safe manner as described in SDS.

6. Must be kind and respectful to residents, personnel, visitors and supervisor.

7. Must demonstrate neat appearance and good personal hygiene.

8. Must wear appropriate uniform and a nametag.

Essential Physical Requirements:

1. Speech – Must be able to speak English.

2. Vision – Must be able to see dust, cobwebs, dirt, food particles, etc. on floors (including closets) and in corners.

3. Hearing – Must be able to hear fire alarm.

4. Lifting Capacity – Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

5. Other – Prolonged walking, standing, bending, and/or stooping during shift.

6. Reading – Must be able to read SDS sheets and labels on chemical bottles.

1. Must be knowledgeable of Exposure Control Plan for Blood borne Pathogens and follow policies and procedures.

2. Must wear personal protective equipment as required

a. (PPE will be provided and available for employees)

b. Must follow cleaning procedures for contaminated areas and surfaces, etc.

3. Must set up wet-floor caution signs before wet mopping floor.

4. Must report any unsafe equipment or condition to Immediate Supervisor.

5. If more than 50 pounds lifting is needed, employee should get assistance.
