Position Summary:
The Inventory Control Associate is responsible for tracking and managing inventory in a warehouse or storage facility. This role involves performing regular counts, updating inventory records, and assisting with stocking and organization to ensure inventory accuracy and availability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed cycle counts, audits, and full physical inventories to ensure accuracy of inventory records.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve complex inventory discrepancies, reporting findings to management.
- Analyze inventory trends, turnover rates, and usage patterns to make recommendations for stock optimization.
- Maintain and update inventory management systems, ensuring data accuracy for all stock movements and adjustments.
- Collaborate with warehouse operations teams at all four facilities to coordinate inventory needs, support process improvements, and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Support inventory-related initiatives primarily at the Gateway and CR 212 locations while maintaining flexibility to assist at other facilities as needed.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare and present inventory reports and analysis for management, highlighting any significant trends or concerns.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and industry best practices in all inventory activities.
- Assist in preparing for and supporting external and internal audits related to inventory.
- Train and mentor junior inventory staff on inventory procedures, protocols, and system usage.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain.
- Strong understanding of inventory control practices, policies, and systems.
- Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Excel for advanced data analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and team training, including regular coordination through Microsoft Teams.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, and reaching.
- Regular lifting and moving of items up to 50 lbs.
- Bending, stooping, and repetitive motions in a warehouse environment.
Work Environment:
- Primarily based on a warehouse or distribution center setting, with varying temperature and noise levels.
- Must adhere to safety protocols and may use personal protective equipment as needed.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel to other facilities or warehouses may be necessary.
Equipment Used:
- Warehouse equipment such as order pickers, forklifts (if certified), and hand trucks.
- Barcode scanners, inventory management software, and computer systems for data entry and analysis.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position may involve oversight of junior inventory clerks or associates, providing guidance, training, and support.
