Hayes Manufacturing is looking for Shipping/Receiving Associate at our Fife Lake, MI location. The Shipping/Receiving Associate is responsible for shipment and receiving of all incoming and outgoing product and parts, verifying all required documentation, inventory, data entry, and parts stocking, while applying shipping and receiving lean principles to all areas of responsibility.
What You’ll Do:
Receiving
- Receive shipments, pull packing slips, compare packing slips to purchase orders.
- Communicate any discrepancies to appropriate departments.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with Purchasing Department to rectify damages and shortages.
- Communicate with Accounting Department once shipment pieces are verified.
- Work with other departments on special orders.
- After inventory is complete, be responsible for stocking all items received daily.
Shipping
- Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pick, pull, and package product.
- Communicate with all departments necessary to fulfill specific and ongoing inventory and shipping needs.
General
- Be responsible for loading and unloading of product and material.
- Comply with all operating, health and safety policies and procedures.
- Use organization tools such as internal computer software to locate and gather stock.
- Crosstrain in shipping and receiving support positions.
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment by proper housekeeping of warehouse areas.
What You’ll Need:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with warehouse operations.
- Basic computer knowledge and mathematical abilities.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Verbal and written communication proficiency.
- Results-driven and customer-oriented attitude, initiative and self-management, and problem-solving ability.
What Helps:
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Warehouse systems knowledge a plus.
