We are seeking a Advanced Nurse Practitioner to assist our clinical team with patient care and daily operations.
The Advanced Nurse Practitioner is responsible for handling patient appointments and performing routine examinations to ensure patient health. Their duties include speaking with patients about healthy lifestyle choices for their age, completing diagnostic tests to help diagnose and treat patients for injuries or illnesses and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to maintain updated medical records.
Responsibilities Include:
- APN is responsible for providing primary care to patients.
- APN will perform initial examinations, including physical exams and patient observations.
- APN is responsible for ordering and administering diagnostic tests.
- APN is responsible for communicating test results to patients and their families.
- Collaborates with nursing managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
- Serve as a resource for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice and professional development.
- Educate patients on health issues related to mental health and substance abuse.
- Maintain confidentiality of protected patient information and protect patient rights regarding compliance with all legal and licensure requirements.
- Conduct self in a professional manner and in compliance with unit and facility practices.
- Initiate emergency support measures.
- APN will provide confirmation of diagnosis, level of care and treatment plan recommendations as specified by Illinois Administrative Code 2060.
- Maintain patient care supplies, equipment and program environment.
- Take part in trainings offered by Haymarket Center in order to stay current with the latest treatment practices and keep up with recent developments in best clinical practices.
- Performs duties that are part of the program guidelines or have been requested by the Medical Director or Vice President of Clinical Services.
Requirements
Preferred Skills / Experience:
- Must have a Master of Science in Nursing.
- Doctorate in Nursing Practice preferred.
- Must maintain a healthy lifestyle.
- Must be willing to work weekends (Required).
- Must be a team player and enjoy changing lives.
- Have basic knowledge of mental health, nutrition, diets, etc. (Required).
