Role Description
The Estimator, reporting directly to the Director of Pre-Construction, works with estimating team to understand project drawings and specifications and subcontractors and vendor proposals to develop budgets for multiple projects.
Responsibilities & Duties
Pre-Construction Responsibilities
- Review all documentation in order to gain a deep understanding of the entire project and its requirements.
- Assist pre-construction team in procurement, providing quantity take-offs, scope review meetings, and in issuing contracts and purchase orders.
- Visit sites as necessary for pre-bid meetings
- Prepare construction budgets by review of project plans and specifications including updates or changes
- Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors
- Evaluates and level bids
- Resolves cost discrepancies
- Analyze and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors and subcontractors
