SUMMARY:
This position provides quality assurance oversight to the clinical documents and billing submitted by a team of direct care providers for the Mental Health Department. The incumbent provides constant guidance, training, and monitoring to ensure compliance with and appropriate clinical documentation for state and county contract requirements.
JOB DUTIES:
- Prepares reports, including reconciliation of clinical documentation accuracy and appropriateness.
- Provides training and feedback on quality assurance matters to staff, including Therapists.
- Tracks billing documentation and follows through on any outstanding issues.
- Acts as liaison between the agency and State and County Mental Health representatives.
- Attends Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health training, Quality Improvement Committee meetings, and conferences.
- Follows the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health guidelines and provides documentation oversight from a clinical perspective.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
In the course of performing this job, the incumbent typically spends time standing, walking on sloped/hilly areas of campus, carrying, driving, lifting (up to 40 pounds), listening, speaking, reaching, writing, and participating in restraint procedures
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters degree and current registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) required.
- Must possess sufficient knowledge of California State and Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (DMH) guidelines and mandates.
- Strong written and verbal skills in order to assist service delivery staff with their documentation and billing requirements.
- Able to effectively provide trainings to staff on DMH billing, client care and documentation.
- Effective computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
- Must be organized and detailed oriented.
- Valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance required
- Must fulfill all requirements of employment, including clearance of all required background records (e.g. Department of Justice, Child Abuse, California Community Care Licensing, County Sanction List, etc.), professional reference checks, physical examination, and drug testing.
Salary : $69,000 - $75,000
