Salary Range: $65.48 - $78.57 Hourly
Description
Summary:
Responsible for assisting students and clients with communication. Duties generally include assessing and diagnosing disorders that can impact swallowing and speaking
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Identifying treatment options
- Creating and carrying out individualized treatment plans addressing specific functional needs
- Teaching patients how to make sounds while improving their voices and maintaining fluency
- Helping individuals improve sentence structure and vocabulary used in written and oral language
- Working with adults and children in developing and strengthening muscles used to swallow
- Counseling individuals and families on ways to cope with swallowing and communication disorders
- Evaluating levels of swallowing, speech and language difficulty
- Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in speech-language pathology, speech therapy, or equivalent
- A relevant current license
- Previous experience in education with IEP-based services, IEPs, and goals preferred
- Organized, creative, flexible, innovative thinker
- Knowledge of Microsoft suite of programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of database system input and reporting
- Must fulfill all requirements of employment, including clearance of all required background records (e.g. Department of Justice, Child Abuse, California Community Care Licensing, County Sanction List, etc.)
Salary : $65 - $79
