Lead the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) transformation as we drive a cultural shift in how we continuously improve; be a hands-on team builder able to recognize others’ resistance to change and lead individuals and teams through the change process; apply competence in TPM, combined with on-the-job expertise and stakeholder input to identify, prioritize and manage multiple improvement projects.
Role Qualifications (Required & Preferred):
Education: B.S. in Engineering or related technology field; MBA will be considered with 10 years’ experience (R); B.S. in Materials Science or Metallurgy (P)
Experience: Proven experience driving large scale culture shifts, 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; 5 years of experience working with the implementation and oversight of TPM initiatives in a manufacturing environment and 5 years of experience leading process improvement projects (All R)
Areas of Knowledge: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to solve complex issues, mental concentration for sustained work periods, patience, and leadership. Ability to understand machine/system capacity thus eliminating wait time within the integrated system. Ability to support a 24/7 operation. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc. (All R)
Skills: Advanced math, strong organizational skills, communication skills, general computer (MS Excel, Access, Word) (R)
Role Responsibilities:
- Implement and oversee TPM Strategy within the mill
- Implement autonomous maintenance with plant production
- Champion plant-wide communications
- Present technical information
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure consistent and steady progress in accordance with TPM Strategy
- Mentor teams and individuals in TPM methodologies
- Collaborate with stakeholders; keep the management team updated on TPM program status
- Function as the primary point of contact for all site TPM inquiries and communications
- Partner with other facilities/managers including all Acerinox Group sites to benchmark best practices in developing TPM milestones
- Partner with steering teams and mill management to identify and remove roadblocks
- Facilitate communications between areas, including production, engineering, maintenance, and quality
- Work to develop operator checklists
- Audit PM process
- Develop and monitor TPM milestone metrics
- Manage program health and address non-compliance
- Establish and support 6S system
- Implement visual standards and checklists at machines while collaborating with other engineering and maintenance teams to integrate new technologies and methods that increase reliability and performance.
- Using statistical tools and software to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve system reliability and performance.
- Preparation of reports and documentation to record findings and to make recommendations to senior management.
- Monitoring the effectiveness of maintenance interventions and system modifications to ensure achievable improvements in asset reliability.
- Channels of information for new and improved tooling, machining, lubricants, filtration, linear and servo drives, etc.
- Maintaining clear communication with suppliers and technical teams to ensure the reliability requirements are met in new designs and upgrades.
- Overseeing the implementation of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and total productive maintenance (TPM).
- Work with Supply Chain Management to develop strong long-term agreements with the vendors to ensure rapid response to maintenance issues and critical, spare components.
