The District Clerk Intern shall assist the District Clerk and staff with preparing research materials, forms, and other assigned duties.
Individuals in this position serve at the pleasure of the current elected official
• Searches resources, physical evidence, documents, and legal records to obtain information applicable to a case or issue under consideration.
• Conducts legal research by studying laws, statutes, constitutions, regulations, court opinions, including precedents and reasoning.
• Cites and summarizes legal research.
• Assists in courtroom with communication, seating charts, and organizing information for District Clerk staff.
• Re-shelves files and organizes file room space.
• Documents and files materials received.
• Assists in answering office visitors and providing information to requestors.
• Operates office machines including computer, printer, photocopier and scanning equipment to enter and retrieve information.
• Assures the services delivered meet quality and timeliness standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Experience in secretarial, office/clerical or records management-related work preferred.
• Experience with personal computers preferred.
Valid Texas Class C driver’s license.
