Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, symptoms, and reactions to medications
- Assist with medical procedures such as wound care, tube feedings, and catheterizations
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and preventive measures
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
Skills:
- Valid license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and equipment
- Proficient in medication administration and dosage calculations
- Ability to assess patient needs and provide appropriate care interventions
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems for documentation purposes
- Experience in acute care settings such as emergency rooms or intensive care units (ICUs)
- Ability to handle stressful situations and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
