Our client stands at the forefront of the global market, pioneering the development and distribution of innovative, sustainable tobacco products to a diverse customer base spanning over 120 nations. They are looking for an Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Associate to join their team in their new Manufacturing / Processing Facility in Danville, Virginia.
Your new role
As an EHS Associate, you'll work closely with the EHS Manager to ensure the facilities meet all safety standards and legal requirements. You'll implement systems to track and report key metrics, promote safety awareness across departments, and integrate the business' safety culture. You'll also conduct risk assessments, manage waste, and oversee safety projects. This position is a full-time, permanent role, and requires this person to be onsite in their Danville, VA location.
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor's degree or equivalent program in Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field.
3 to 5 years in the EHS field.
Strong project management abilities, effective training and presentation skills, and excellent communication.
Familiarity with problem-solving methods, root cause analysis, USA legal requirements, statistical process control, and ISO standards.
Fluency in English (oral and written); Spanish is a plus.
