Heavy Civil Estimator for leading civil general contractor
About the Company
Join one of New York City's leading heavy civil contractors, renowned for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects. Their team is dedicated to excellence, innovation, and sustainability, and they are looking for a talented Senior Heavy Civil Estimator to help them continue their success.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for heavy civil projects, including roads, bridges, and utilities.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
Identify and quantify cost factors such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and bid proposals.
Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
Monitor and update cost estimates as project details evolve.
Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules.
Maintain accurate records of estimated and actual project costs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in heavy civil projects.
Proficiency in HCSS Heavy Bid software is essential.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of local building codes and regulations in New York City.
