MainFrame Architect - Contract - Erlanger, KY - $52.00 - $54.93/hr.

Role Description
Assess existing mainframe environments and identify opportunities for modernization.
Develop comprehensive modernization strategies and roadmaps.
Design and architect solutions to migrate mainframe applications to microservices architecture.
Collaborate closely with the Mainframe Center of Excellence (COE) team to understand the current ecosystem and draw a blueprint for the future.
Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the modernization process.
Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and best practices for mainframe modernization.
Ensure that modernization efforts align with business goals and objectives.
Conduct performance tuning and optimization of modernized systems.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to mainframe modernization.
Utilize Generative AI skills to enhance modernization strategies and solutions.
Skills & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
7 years of experience in mainframe technologies and modernization projects.
Strong knowledge of mainframe systems, including COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and migration strategies.
Proficiency in modern software development practices, such as DevOps and Agile methodologies.
Good working knowledge of legacy modernization and microservices architecture.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
Generative AI skills are a bonus.
Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TOGAF) are a plus.
