Hybrid Schedule Your new companyOur client is an international leader in design build projects, providing technical and construction management services in addition to the design and delivery of projects across the globe. Due to the growth of their Manhattan operation, there is a need for a Senior Estimator within the Manhattan office that will focus on Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical / Laboratories and Manufacturing facilities. This individual will play a key part in shaping the department as they continue to grow the New York office!Your new roleIn this role as a Senior Construction Estimator, on a day-to-day basis your responsibilities will include managing projects from initial client meeting through the pre-contract stage. You will work through design & development, technical evaluation, assembling all documentation for tenders and contract agreement, then work closely with the Construction PM through project hand-over to the field team who will undertake the build process thereafter. This will include the following; Analyzing and interpreting architectural plansObtaining quotes from suppliers, and subsProviding detailed proposals and accurate bid packagesAttending meetings with vendors, clients and architects.Capable of performing detailed quantity take-offs and organizing the quantities with unit pricing in production of an estimate.The ability to build a full conceptual cost estimate from architectural sketches / schematics.Experience in developing and implementing value engineering solutions to drive down project costs for the owner while maintaining a high level of construction quality.Ability to negotiate throughout the bidding processThe ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and aggressive deadlines.Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills with a high level of attention to detailA team player with a positive attitude who can also work independently, is self-motivated and success-driven, yet able and willing to take direction.What you'll need to succeedWe are looking for a seasoned Senior Construction Estimator with a thorough understanding of the construction of Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical / Laboratories and Manufacturing facilities specifically across the tri-state area.The individual will understand construction industry practices, processes and standards specific to interior focused fit-out and renovation project scope, ideally with perspective candidates having 8 years’ experience within the sector.
