Job description

Our company is seeking experienced manufacturing employees for the Small Parts Press Operator role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate press for the forming and curing of a variety of small parts as required.
DETAIL:
- Make adjustments for pressure, temperature and time cycle.
- Place materials in mold in specified manner.
- May use preformed slug or specified sheets of materials and liquid resin.
- Mix according to type of unit being produced.
- In case of liquid resin, exercise care to properly spread resin on glass fiber sheets to assure sheets of complete coverage.
- At completion of time cycle, remove finished part from press, deflash and add weights as specified to avoid distortion during cooling.
- Periodically check parts for conformity to dimensional specifications using micrometers, scale or rule.
- Blow out and check mold following each cycle to assure cleanliness and avoid faulty parts.
- Deflash parts using stand grinder and wire brush and/or hand tools as required.
- Perform a variety of similar or associated duties as required or directed.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Detect and report defective materials and refer questionable cases to foreman.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift 35 lbs.
- Basic reading.
- Basic shop math.
- Micrometer knowledge.
- Ruler knowledge.
