Job Summary :
A School Psychologist Paraducator works under a licensed school psychologist and has special training in conducting assessments and working with children, teachers, and parents to make the school experience a positive and rewarding one. The school psychologist special education paraeducator provides support to the school psychologist and other special education staff in the area of assessment and evaluation, record review, computer-based observation. The individual must maintain professionalism at all times.
Qualifications and Requirements :
- High School diploma or equivalent; baccalaureate degree, preferably in psychology or education.
- If candidate does not have a baccalaureate degree, one of the following endorsements :
- Completed two years of study at an institution of higher education (48 college hours) or have a minimum of an associate degree.
- Demonstrate knowledge through formal assessment, [e.g. ParaPro Assessment (former assessment) or The Paraeducator Learning Network Assessment (current assessment) within one year from date of hire].
- Maintain current TB testing as required by Health Department regulations (after employment offer is made).
Performance Responsibilities :
