As an HR Department Assistant at Haywood Community College, you’ll play a key supporting role in our HR operations—helping employees, assisting with hiring and onboarding, and keeping records organized. Your work will ensure a smooth, welcoming experience for our employees while keeping things running behind the scenes.
What You’ll Do:- Be a go-to resource for employees, answering questions and providing great service.
- Assist with recruitment by coordinating interviews, background checks, and onboarding.
- Help maintain employee records, process verifications, and support payroll tasks.
- Assist with HR projects, employee events, and benefits enrollment.

Position Details:
- Part-time: Up to 29 hours per week, Monday–Friday between 8 AM – 4 PM (schedule set with the selected candidate).
- Hiring Timeline: Interviews will be ongoing, with an expected start date in March 2025.
- Process: Two in-person interviews a job-related task submission.
Minimum
High School Diploma or equivalent. Intermediate skill level required with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook. Demonstrated ability to learn college specific software system.
Preferred
Associate’s Degree with 2 years of office administration experience.
