What are the responsibilities and job description for the PT Van Driver (HCC Student position) position at Haywood Community College?
Primary Purpose of Position
Van driver will be responsible for safely operating college owned vehicles to transport students to select off campus instructional sites.
Essential Job Duties
- Driver will follow all motor vehicle laws and speed limits at all times
- Driver will adhere to all requirements within the Haywood Community College Driver Safety Manual
- Driver will adhere to all aspects of the Haywood Community College Driver Contract
- Driver will follow all policies and procedures of Haywood Community College
- Ensure a safe and professional travel experience for all passengers
- Alert Human Resources of any changes to driving record
- Other duties as assigned
- Candidates for the position must be HCC students who are taking courses in the Natural Resources curriculum and have the recommendation of full-time faculty member for the driving role.
Qualifications
Minimum
Be 21 years of age and have 3 year's driving experience, complete the Haywood Community College driving safety training program, and have an acceptable driving report.
Preferred
Past experience transporting passengers.
Licensing Requirement
Valid North Carolina Driver's License. Satisfactory motor vehicle report.
Haywood Community College Van Driver Certification (completed upon hire of position).
