Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a candidate to provide electrical engineering and design for water and wastewater facility projects.
Qualified candidate should have extensive knowledge in industrial power design, including medium and low voltage electrical power distribution, generator design, motor control, VFDs, lighting systems, equipment layout and related activities.
Candidate must have a good working knowledge of the NEC and related Codes.
Candidate must also have good communication skills, including interaction with Project Managers, Clients, and Contractors.
Candidate will serve as the Lead Electrical Engineer and function as the Engineer-of-Record on small, mid-size, and large design projects for water and wastewater facilities.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following :
Supervision of less experienced staff working on projects, and interaction with clients and engineers from other disciplines.
Prepare technical specifications
Provide construction support by coordinate with construction contractors, review equipment shops drawings and reply to Request-for-Information.
Serve as a technical mentor for less experienced staff in local offices.
Engage in Business Development activities such as proposal preparation and fee / scope development.
Perform QA / QC review of the work completed by others in the Electrical Group
As needed, function as the Project Manager for selected Electrical projects
Minimum Professional Qualifications :
Over 12 years of experience in electrical engineering and design in water / wastewater or other heavy industrial industry is required.
Prior project leadership experience is required; Leadership experience in major projects is desired.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required.
Professional Engineering License is required.
Experience in AutoCAD, Revit BIM software, and SKM and / or ETAP power systems software is desirable.
