Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Construction Inspector for water and sewer utilities projects located in Columbia, SC, and surrounding region. The employee in this position will work with owners, contractors, third-party firms, and Hazen engineers to support the construction and commissioning of Hazen projects.
Job Duties :
- Conduct on-site observation, monitoring, inspection, and evaluation of construction activities.
- Review and interpret project specifications and drawings to verify contractor compliance therewith.
- Review contractor performance and compliance with safety requirements.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with multi-discipline teams, consultants, owners, contractors, and third-party inspection / testing firms.
- Prepare daily reports, verify material quantities, and review contractor pay applications.
- Maintain construction related documentation.
- Travel to various project sites within 2-hour drive of the Columbia metro area.
