Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate maintenance activities during assigned shifts, ensuring efficient operations.
- Manage the performance of union-represented craft personnel, directing their work in accordance with established safety and operational standards.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations, fostering a culture of safety within the workplace.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions, effectively managing scheduled shutdowns and emergency breakdowns.
- Maintain an organized spares inventory, ensuring that essential components are readily available.
- Enhance team performance through training, development, and guidance of direct reports, including A2 level Shift Managers.
- Monitor performance indicators and identify areas for operational improvements, striving for excellence in maintenance and production functions.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to make informed decisions.
- In-depth knowledge of industrial power equipment, including transformers and switchgear up to 13.8kV DC & AC drives.
- Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and failure analysis techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, facilitating effective interactions with team members.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy manufacturing, alongside 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is necessary.
- Equivalent military experience in a leadership role may be considered in lieu of the specified experience.
- Preferred educational background includes a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in an electrical-related field, complemented by at least 5 years of experience in electrical roles within manufacturing environments.
