Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Shift Manager for Electrical Maintenance to oversee the electrical maintenance operations within our Iron Production Division. This critical role involves leading a team of skilled electrical workers, managing project tasks, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the hourly electrical workforce.
- Strategically plan daily electrical maintenance tasks utilizing tab ware.
- Assess and recommend training and tool requirements for the maintenance team.
- Organize, plan, and manage various electrical maintenance projects.
- Advise on the procurement of essential equipment, services, and supplies.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of control systems and models while supporting the Process Automation Engineer.
- Oversee the maintenance of complex computer control and application systems.
- Develop and sustain process information systems.
- Supervise external contractors as required.
- Communicate, enforce, and uphold company and departmental policies.
- Be available for on-call responsibilities, including potential weekend and shift work.
- Proficient in Level 1 Process Automation.
- Experience in PLC and HMI/MMI programming.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Windows applications.
- Familiarity with instrumentation and systems.
- Strong computer networking skills.
- Excellent supervisory and organizational capabilities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent work experience (5 years).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in process automation and PLC programming.
- Preferred: At least 5 years of experience working with Modicon PLCs and RSView SE HMI, as well as 5 years in the steel mill industry.
- Experience coordinating both internal technical resources and external contractors.
- Knowledge of Power Distribution (480 VAC/250 VDC) and instrumentation systems design, installation, and maintenance.
