Job Overview

The Shift Manager for Furnace Operations plays a pivotal role in the management of the Blast Furnace and cast house operations. This position is primarily focused on overseeing operational conditions, implementing necessary corrective measures, and leading a team of cast house operators to ensure optimal performance. The Shift Manager is tasked with ensuring the safety of both crews and contractors, while maintaining strict adherence to environmental compliance and emission standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation of the Blast Furnace and casting processes.
• Monitor operating conditions and implement corrective actions as required.
• Direct cast house operators in executing casting operations.
• Ensure safety protocols and environmental compliance are upheld at all times.
• Manage shutdown and startup procedures, including necessary gas system purges.
• Conduct training for crew members and promote effective communication between team members and management.
