We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join our team, where you will apply your expertise in electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify operational electrical control circuitry throughout our facility. This position collaborates closely with the Electrical Supervisor and Electrical Maintenance Manager to ensure the highest standards of electrical functionality across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair and replace defective components in generators, motors, storage batteries, controllers, switchboards, switches, conductors, and other electrical fixtures.
- Install, maintain, and repair electro-mechanical, electrical, and electronic machinery components, including transformers, generators, exciters, and hydraulic and pneumatic devices.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on field, plant, and shop electronic and electrical systems, ensuring compliance with operational standards.
- Track inventory and perform annual inventory assessments in coordination with the Finance Department.
- Test solid-state circuitry to identify and replace defective parts in digital and analog equipment.
- Execute enhancements and upgrades to plant electrical subsystems.
- Utilize specialized digital cameras and thermographic imaging for infrared analysis of field equipment.
- Design and modify motor power control equipment circuits, interpreting blueprints and schematics as necessary.
- Prepare schedules and synchronize activities with other divisions to ensure seamless operations.
- Ensure the accurate and thorough completion of all preventive maintenance tasks.
- Proficient in electrical theory and control circuitry.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities for electrical systems.
- Knowledgeable in electro-mechanical and electronic components.
- Capable of interpreting blueprints and schematics effectively.
- Familiar with preventative maintenance procedures and techniques.
- Skilled in infrared analysis and examination methods.
- Degree in a field related to Electrical Technology from an accredited college.
- Certification in Electrical Technology from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience in a steel producing and rolling mill environment.
