You will be responsible for managing a team of mechanical and electrical technicians to ensure the seamless execution of maintenance activities that support both steelmaking production and overarching plant objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and ensure maintenance, safety, and environmental activities involving mechanical and electrical technicians in alignment with steelmaking production and plant-wide goals.
- Oversee teams to achieve safety, downtime reduction, preventive, and predictive maintenance objectives.
- Utilize technical expertise in the upkeep of industrial machinery.
- Conduct administrative tasks such as crew scheduling, report completion, safety meeting facilitation, and compiling necessary records.
- Advocate for continuous improvement and standardization of maintenance practices and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Proficient mechanical and electrical maintenance expertise.
- Experience with AC/DC motor control, drive packages, and PLCs.
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities and team collaboration skills.
- Familiar with hydraulics, water systems, and machine shop mathematics.
- Experience utilizing computer-based maintenance management systems.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Capacity to lift over 25 pounds occasionally and perform physical activities such as climbing and bending.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, or a minimum of 10 years in a supervisory role within a manufacturing facility.
- Demonstrated industrial/manufacturing mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
- Preferred experience in a unionized workplace.
