SUMMARY
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for unloading trucks, preparing orders to be shipped and assisting the warehouse team with various other tasks. This position is also the primary back up driver when the regular driver is unavailable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Order Preparation
- Readily available to prepare same-day orders during any hour of operation
- Locates material for customer orders, loads customers
- Verifies all orders against provided paperwork to ensure accuracy
- Retrieves signature from customers for loaded orders and returns paperwork to office
Shipping and Receiving Material
- Assists in manual loading/unloading of trucks
- Ensures all shipping/receiving documents reach the correct location
- Verifies outbound product against paperwork to ensure accuracy
- Maintains order accuracy through shipping integrity
Warehouse Organization:
- Maintains work area in a clean, neat, and highly organized manner, including all stored product, supplies, equipment, parts, etc.
- Assists in consolidating material in storage locations and ensuring that items are stored properly
- Ensures warehouse is accessible and safe for employees, salespeople, and customer traffic
- Moves product as necessary or for organizational purposes
- Assists in counting of physical inventory
- Other duties as assigned
Back Up Driving
- Readily available to retrieve material from jobsites including properly packing and wrapping the pallet
- Picks up material from vendors or other locations as needed
- Secures loads on truck for safe transport
- Verifies accuracy of pick-up when necessary
- Assists in loading/unloading delivery truck as necessary
- Manually unloads trucks or pallets when required
- Verifies outbound product against paperwork to ensure accuracy
- Documents the delivery through photos and returns proof of delivery photos to manager
- Operates various company vehicles and equipment as necessary or assigned
EDUCATION and /or EXPERIENCE
- CDL Class B required
- Experience operating a forklift preferred
- Relevant warehouse experience preferred
- $18/hr to $20/hr
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Considerable use of arms, legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, and walking is required. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently lift and move material and may be exposed to various temperatures during the day. The noise level in this work environment may range from moderate to loud. This position works in proximity to operating equipment such as forklifts, trucks and lifts and requires the use of box cutters, pallet jacks, scanners, hand carts, computer systems and forklifts.
