JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to join our team. The Corporate Accountant will play an important role overseeing the company's book keeping and financial operations, with a focus on maintaining accurate general ledger records, bank reconciliation, ensuring correct standard costs, and managing inventory. The role involves providing financial data and reports to company leadership, and overseeing the accounting team responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the company's general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
2. Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial transactions and resolve discrepancies.
3. Cost/Inventory Management: Ensure correct standard costs are maintained, and actively contribute to cost control initiatives within the organization. Oversee and maintain accurate inventory records, collaborating with production and purchasing to improve systems.
4. Compliance: Ensure the company complies with regulations and pays appropriate monthly taxes.
5. Financial Reporting: Provide timely and accurate financial reports to company leadership, presenting insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making. Reports to include monthly financial statements, cost of goods sold reports, sales reports, and preparation of company’s year end statements.
6. Team Management: Lead and manage the accounting team (two people) responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, ensuring efficient and accurate financial operations.
7. ERP Utilization: Demonstrate a high level of comfort and proficiency in managing company financial information within the ERP software. Identify new ways to leverage technology to make financial systems more accurate and efficient.
8. Data Analytics: Leverage strong data analytics skills to extract meaningful insights from financial data, contributing to the company's overall performance and growth strategy.
9. Flexibility and Adaptability: Fulfill various duties across different aspects of the company on any given day, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving business needs.
10. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including purchasing, sales, accounting, and operations, to support efficient company-wide operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in booking keeping, with a strong understanding of business operations.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems for financial management.
- Excellent accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
- Strong data analytics skills. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Works well in collaborative teams, and with people from varying backgrounds.
