Welder

Position Summary

Must be able to use various welding equipment such as mig, tig, stick welders, air arc machine and cutting torches. Also required to read engineering sketches and drawings

Principle Duties and Responsibilities 

• Cut or join together metal pieces using manual or semi-automatic welding machines.
• Carbon arc gouging is a common task.
• Safely set up and operate welding machines and other shop equipment.
• Follow blueprints to arrange metal pieces and temporarily fix them into position before welding.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Make recommendations for process improvements.
• Can lift 50 lbs at least 10 times daily.
• Work accordingly to meet Safety and Quality goals.
• Required to follow all company policies.
• Work with team to balance work load to meet On Time Delivery goals
• Must be able to use hand and power tools as needed. 

Experience and Education 

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Completion of technical welding program
• 
  

Scope of Role

• Maintain a good relationship with internal customers and co-workers, along with apprising management of any maintenance or facility related issues.
