Onsite Health and Wellness Coach

Company and Role:

HBD provides On-Site workplace health and injury prevention programs. We are seeking a qualified part-time health coach to deliver our health and wellness program services on location in Maryville, TN and Athens, TN.

HBD's programs have a "total population" approach. We seek to engage and involve all client employees in our proven health promotion initiatives utilizing interactive education tools, comprehensive material, and risk-based results-driven coaching.

Our model requires coaches to actively move around the workplace, proactively engaging all employees, and briefly discussing each individual's health goals. The job includes coaching on the go near production machinery, in warehouses, and manufacturing facilities with large amounts of walking and time on your feet required. The right candidate will be able to provide personally relevant information to inspire practical, sustainable, and risk-based health behavior change across a diverse population.

Skills and Job Summary

We need knowledgeable and qualified coaches with excellent communication and time management skills. They need to be comfortable and efficient in engaging large numbers of people across varied shifts and work environments. HBD Coaches need a strong health education background or experience so they can adapt health information to be relevant for varying stages of interest and behavioral readiness. There needs to be a willingness to work inside a manufacturing environment as part of a team of coaches while managing their own time effectively. Coaching includes brief personalized discussions as well as larger group talks.

The employee will often work independently but will be part of a local and national team requiring timely reporting and data entry to track your work. Must be able to self-manage, work independently, problem-solve, communicate professionally, and keep accurate records of interactions using our proprietary software.

Other activities may include, but are not limited to:

• Small or large group presentations or public speaking
• Conducting finger-stick Biometric screenings
• Measuring blood pressure and waist measurements
• Preparing interactive displays or table-top education exhibits
• Assisting client employees with accessing our web portal and completing health related surveys.
• Data entry, report writing or other accurate record-keeping
• Participating in HBD conference video calls and local team meetings, some of which may be in the evening outside of traditional working hours

We anticipate an average of 15-25 Hours per week: But the exact amount of scheduled hours will be discussed for the right candidate depending on their availability after the interview process. Hours and days are flexible within the predetermined structure with local team support. And will require the candidate to have flexibility including the ability to routinely work early mornings or late evenings in order to cover the client's shift work.

No weekend or Holiday work is anticipated.

You must have reliable transport and an ability to visit Maryville, up to, 2-3 times per week, or potentially Athens 1-2 times per week.

This is expected to be a part-time role without benefits. For a successful candidate, there may be an opportunity to build towards full-time (considered 30 hours or more per week) which will have access to benefits. There is not a specific timeline or expectation to progress to full-time, it will be dependent on work availability and performance.
