Position Details:
HC Solutions Group is seeking a Civil Engineer with experience in water/wastewater engineering. The ideal candidate has planning, design, permitting, and construction experience in the water/ wastewater market for various client types. This position is an excellent opportunity to grow technical and project management knowledge, skills, and abilities for today’s water and infrastructure-focused environment.
Job Duties:
- Assist in water/wastewater process and pipeline design projects.
- Work on multi-discipline teams to complete water and wastewater planning, evaluation, design, and construction projects related to collection, conveyance, and distribution systems, pump stations, storage and treatment facilities, and asset upgrade/rehabilitation.
- Assist with Civil/Process Engineering design projects including schematic/preliminary design, design development, final design, specifications, permitting, bid-phase services, and construction contract document production.
- Participates in technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications, and technical plans.
- Field work may include water sampling, site inspection, and construction administration support including completing field observation reports.
- The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, including written, oral, and good interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work and interface well in a collaborative and detail-oriented project team environment.
- Ensures that work products meet client, environmental, and safety requirements.
- Possesses strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and analysis modules.
- Performs moderate to complex water/wastewater/civil design tasks while delegating more routine tasks to staff with less experience.
- Mentor, guide and check the work of less experienced staff.
- Strong team collaboration, oral and written communication, design expertise, and problem-solving skills are required.
- Adhere to safety and quality procedures of GAI and our clients.
- Travel to other offices/meet with clients/attend project-specific meetings.

Technical Responsibilities
- Designs a complete project, system, component, or process.
- Prepares complete plans, specifications, and other project documents.
- Designs and conducts analyses and interprets test data.
- Begins to develop and reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
Project and Task Management
- Assigns tasks to other technical and non-technical staff.
- Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the engineering work.
- Prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
- Assists with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or projects.
Management Responsibility
- Receives general direction on key objectives.
- Receives guidance on unconventional/complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria.
- Mentors junior staff by providing guidance, explaining professional responsibilities, and reviewing work products.
- Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments.

Salary : $120,000 - $180,000
