Job Description
In this ER RN position, you'll be responsible for triaging, assessing, and treating patients of all ages presenting for emergency care. You'll provide timely, compassionate care for patients with emergency and life-threatening conditions, utilizing your expertise to make informed decisions and coordinate care effectively.
Some key responsibilities of this role include:
- Documenting pertinent nursing notes to reflect changes in condition, transfer, and discharge
- Responding to and referring incoming telephone calls, including phone triage when needed
- Coordinating and triaging incoming ambulance traffic
- Managing care with primary ED attending
- Learning, understanding, and using the Emergency Severity Index 5-level triage algorithm
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess a graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing, with a current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification. Previous hospital emergency registered nurse experience is also required.
