Job Summary and Qualifications
The Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) will be actively involved in all aspects of the Inpatient Wound Care Program. Will work in a fast paced environment on a multi-disciplinary team that is highly patient focused and dedicated to delivering the best care to our patients. You will be self-directed, organized and able to take an assignment and go. As a member of the Wound Care Team, you will be actively involved in helping the facility adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals in relation to wound care and pressure ulcer prevention. You will also be involved in reviewing policy on effective and efficient wound care practices. Clinical support will be paramount for both the nursing staff and for physician based wound care programs.
What you will do in this job:
- You will provide burn and wound care for patients.
- You will demonstrate the ability to manage critical situations and make care based decisions.
- You will act as an advocate for patient safety.
- You will provide general nursing care while effectively communicating pertinent clinical information to physicians, nurses and other support staff.
- You will ensure effective care and use of time, supplies, and equipment.
- You will act as a resource for new employees.
- You will educate patients regarding their medications, procedure and treatments, providing patients and their families with support throughout their stay.
- You will accurately complete documentation on patient’s record.
What may be required for this job:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required
- Wound Care Certification (WCC) or Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse (WOCN) is preferred
- Minimum of one year RN experience is required
- Prior Inpatient Wound Care experience is strongly preferred
