Unlock your potential Job Summary and Qualifications We are seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions and promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment. The Surgical Technician will work in collaboration under the direction of the RN and Surgeon during surgical procedures. What will you do in this role? Provide care to patients under the direction of the RN in the Surgical Services suite. Demonstrates knowledge and application of sterile technique, instruments, and supplies needed for surgical cases. Communicates, interacts, and participates in teamwork on the unit to provide patient care. Demonstrates knowledge and application of the nursing process. Communicates and participates in patient care activities in direct conjunction with the RN. Serves as the patient and family advocate with respect to patient’s right to privacy by protecting confidential information. May have access to POS room or designated areas to transport, assemble, or stock inventory of non-scheduled drugs and biologicals to include but not limited to fluids, sterile water, normal saline, and irrigations. Promotes and displays a positive customer-oriented demeanor to patients, visitors, staff, and physicians. Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care, or the services delivered. Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system. Uses system to report potential patient safety issues. Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patients care which results in patient harm. Uses Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety. Other duties as assigned. What qualifications will you need? Graduation from Surgical Technician program is preferred High School Diploma or equivalent is required BLS (AHA Healthcare Provider) is required Previous scrubbing experience is preferred 1 year of experience preferred HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is a 523-bed, full-service medical and surgical acute care center.
