About the Role
Clinical Resource Director Responsibilities
The Clinical Resource Director plays a crucial role in establishing and leading the supply expense agenda for the clinical resource management program in a hospital setting. This position drives positive change through program definition and leads initiatives that support the healthcare organization's clinical expense agenda.
Main Responsibilities
- Reviews and optimizes the group purchasing organization's contract portfolio to reduce supply expenses
- Develops and executes product standardization with value analysis committees to ensure quality and patient outcomes
- Broad enterprise and segment influence, building strategic alliances with hospital leadership, physicians, and supply chain to drive change and improvement
Key Performance Indicators
- Develops facility- or division-based strategies to reduce supply expense per adjusted admission
- Identifies facility supply expense variances and develops action plans to mitigate an increase in supply expense
- Participates in monthly operating reports and supply expense planning to ensure transparency and accountability
- Facilitates value analysis meetings to discuss and implement new ideas and best practices
- Reviews products and technology for clinical evidence and benefit to inform decision-making
- Maintains or increases product quality and patient outcomes by identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Administration, Nursing, Pharmacy, or Allied Health Profession
- Related experiences in healthcare value analysis, clinical supply chain, or acute care hospital performance
- Three to five years of value analysis/clinical/hospital leadership experience preferred
- LPN/RN, CMRP, CVAHP, or similar credential preferred
