Job Description
The Registered Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing and documenting patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conducting diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administering respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assisting with placement of artificial airways and initiating, monitoring, and maintaining mechanical ventilation.
- Monitoring patient response to therapy and notifying providers as necessary.
As a vital part of the patient care team, you will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
