We are seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions and promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment. The Surgical Technician will work in collaboration under the direction of the RN and Surgeon during surgical procedures.

Job Summary And Qualifications
We are seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions and promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment. The Surgical Technician will work in collaboration under the direction of the RN and Surgeon during surgical procedures.
What will you do in this role?
- Provide care to patients under the direction of the RN in the Surgical Services suite.
- Demonstrates knowledge and application of sterile technique, instruments, and supplies needed for surgical cases.
- Communicates, interacts, and participates in teamwork on the unit to provide patient care.
- Demonstrates knowledge and application of the nursing process. Communicates and participates in patient care activities in direct conjunction with the RN.
- Serves as the patient and family advocate with respect to patient’s right to privacy by protecting confidential information.
- May have access to POS room or designated areas to transport, assemble, or stock inventory of non-scheduled drugs and biologicals to include but not limited to fluids, sterile water, normal saline, and irrigations.
- Promotes and displays a positive customer-oriented demeanor to patients, visitors, staff, and physicians.
- Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care, or the services delivered.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system. Uses system to report potential patient safety issues.
- Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patients care which results in patient harm.
- Uses Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Graduation from Surgical Technician program preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- BLS (AHA Healthcare Provider) is required
- Previous scrubbing experience is preferred
- 1 year of experience preferred
- Certified Surgical Tech required
