We are seeking a(an) Baker Act Coordinator for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Did you get into our industry for these reasons? As our Baker Act Coordinator, you will act as a liaison between the Behavioral Health Center and other hospital departments to ensure consistency in maintaining records and policy.

We are a family like team caring for each other as we care for our patients!

Delegated tasks may include:

• You will explain and document explanation of patient rights, Marchman Act, and Baker Act.
• You will relate information in an understandable manner to the patient and his representative/guardians as needed.
• You will be knowledgeable concerning the Baker Act, Marchman Act, and guardianship chapters of the Florida Statutes.
• You will schedule hearings involving physicians, patients, and the court and ensures material is prepared in order to transfer patients to other facilities.
  
  

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience preferred with Baker’s Act.
• High school or GED preferred
• Basic Cardiac Life Support through the American Heart Association, CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training required for Behavioral Health.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
