HCA Gulf Coast Division - Houston, Texas
HCA Houston Healthcare is part of HCA Healthcare’s Gulf Coast Division, a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. What you will do in this role:
The Executive Residency Internship Program incorporates hospital operations and service lines to facilitate a holistic and broad view across the enterprise through job rotation, didactic, and experimental learnings. Over the course of the Program the Administrative Resident intern will become knowledgeable regarding the internal and external forces that shapes hospitals future, internal operations, and its relationship with key stakeholders: patients, providers, payers and the community.
- Assists assigned departments in establishing measures of performance, increased productivity, quality improvement, cost controls and maximum utilization of facilities.
- Observes and evaluates operations in determined areas, proposes long-term initiatives, projects or suggests process improvements.
- Reviews professional literature to keep abreast of treads, legislation, and current events in the healthcare industry both nationally and locally.
- Attends and participates in departmental, administrative, and executive level meetings as invited by appropriate staff to gain a comprehensive understanding of organizational structure, operation, and objectives.
- Provides leadership to assigned areas of responsibility to ensure accountability for maintaining and monitoring utilization of resources, physical space, equipment, department protocols, standards, policies, and practices.
Qualifications
What qualification you will need:
- Completion of the first year of an accredited Masters Program in business or a health related field OR Graduated from an accredited Master’s Program in business or a health related field Required
- Willingness to Learn: The ability to actively learn and follow instructions, policies, and procedures in a timely fashion.
- Skill in coordinating the activities of multiple work groups to eliminate duplication of effort and inefficiencies in getting work accomplished.
- Willingness to be proactive and work at connecting with and building cooperative relationships with others.
