Job Summary and Qualifications

This position supports the mission of HCA HealthONE Aurora, its clinics and campuses, in realizing the care and improvement in human life. The Infection Prevention Director is responsible for the prevention, detection and control of infections in the facility and responsible for the direction of the Infection Prevention Program. The individual is responsible for establishing, instituting and maintaining an effective system for evaluation and reporting infections in patients. All of this shall be accomplished based on a systematic body of professional knowledge.

What qualifications you will need:

• Completion of Infection Control Surveillance course is required. Certification in Infection Control is required. Certification on Healthcare Quality preferred.
• BS degree required. Master’s in Public Health or related field preferred.
• Demonstrated five years of previous infection control experience, or related areas such as nursing or microbiology.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members. Strong critical thinking skills and project management. Demonstrates knowledge of microbiology, normal flora, pathogens and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
