Job Summary And Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides clerical and phlebotomy services for the Laboratory in a timely, efficient and courteous manner. The Laboratory Assistant demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Fulfills departmental responsibilities with the long-range plan, mission, vision and values of the hospital. Promotes a supportive environment that encourages collegiality. Computer processing of patient specimens before and after collection. Processes and distributes patient reports.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Laboratory Assistant demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Fulfills departmental responsibilities with the long-range plan, mission, vision and values of the hospital. Promotes a supportive environment that encourages collegiality. Computer processing of patient specimens before and after collection. Processes and distributes patient reports.
POSITION QUALIFICATION:
- Medical terminology is desirable
- Must be able to exhibit ability to collect samples from every age group with skill
- Basic computer skills and communication ability needed
- BCLS required within 6 months of hire
