Job Summary And Qualifications
POSITION GOAL
The Medical Laboratory Technician Student is responsible for prompt and accurate performance of routine, complex and specialized clinical laboratory procedures as assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor. The Medical Laboratory Technician Student demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to patients including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
Position Requirements
Experience: Previous laboratory experience in clinical rotations at this facility. Student can only work in the departments they have completed.
Education: High school diploma and currently enrolled in a Medical Laboratory Technician program.
Special Qualifications: Must be detail oriented and able to operate mechanical, electrical and computer controlled instrumentation. Possess knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, in a population appropriate manner, and to involve significant others, as necessary or indicated.
