Job Summary And Qualifications
Plans, coordinates, and assists in the management of the Recreational Therapy Service. Participates in planning and implementing new programs and services. Establishes and implements therapeutic recreational therapy programs to treat patients. Directs and organizes such activities as adapted sports, dramatics, and social activities, arts and crafts, regulating content of program in accordance with patient’s capabilities, needs, and interests. Employee will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.

Job Summary And Qualifications
Plans, coordinates, and assists in the management of the Recreational Therapy Service. Participates in planning and implementing new programs and services. Employee will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.
What you will do in this role:
- Plans and administers Therapeutic Recreational activities reflecting special considerations for the following age categories: Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric.
- Screens and assesses needs of those referred.
- Implements, review, and revises recreational therapy plan based on patient’s response and rehabilitation potential.
- Organizes and supervises recreational therapy activities.
- Records therapeutic techniques implemented, special test results, patient’s response and progress.
- Conducts group recreational activities which promote social interaction, personality adjustments, and character development.
- Participates in planning, implementing, and conducting rehabilitation program and Recreational Therapy Services staff development through inservice education.
- Assists in developing, implementing, and managing new services and programs and integrates with existing services and programs
- Graduate of an accredited college with emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation or associated field
- Must be certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or eligible for certification by the NTL, Therapeutic Recreational Society.MT-BC (Music Therapist- Board Certified, ATR-BC (Art Therapist- Board Certified) or OT (Licensed in State of Texas –Occupational Therapist)
- 1 year of Rehab experience
