We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsTheOccupational Health Techrequires excellent communication, computer and organizational skills. Participates in data gathering and data entry into medical record or practice management system as it pertains to recording patient care, patient demographics, charge entry, developing and processing of invoices for services rendered- including Workers Compensation claims. Performs any combination of following duties under direction of physician to assist in examination and treatment of patients : Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment. Hands instruments and materials to doctor as directed. Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests. Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), Spirometry, Audiometry, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests. Performs audiograms, breath alcohol testing, spirometry, phlebotomy, and drug screen collection. Sometimes these procedures are performed in the clinic and sometimes they are performed at the employee's work site. Schedule patients with affiliated vendors for tests that are not performed by department. Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials. Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment used in patient care.What you need for this role :
- High School Graduate or GED preferred. Graduate of Technical or Vocational school desired.
- BLS required upon hire (AHA or Red Cross); Breath Alcohol Testing, Drug Screen Collector, Spirometry and Audiology preferred.
