Apply Today!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Unit Clerk contributes to high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of clerical tasks. The Unit Secretary functions as receptionist for the unit and assists the patient care team while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment.What you will do in this role : SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Greet patients / customers promptly, professionally and cordially.
• Operates computer systems effectively with sufficient knowledge base to avoid errors.
• Answers telephone professionally and efficiently, providing appropriate information to caller. Records accurate messages and distributes in a timely manner. Receives and takes action of faxes as necessary.
• Provides procedure preparation instructions to patients as required for specific studies. Observes patient wait times.
• Prepares requisitions for procedures by utilizing various computer programs and sends all STAT results / films when requested.
• Prints, separates and distributes reports in a timely manner.
• Prints CDs / films from PACS and releases / mails films and / or reports appropriately when requested.
• Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.
• Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patients according to facility policies.
• Completes and maintains educational requirements.What qualifications you will need : EXPERIENCERequired -
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
• Minimum I year of experience as a unit clerk / patient care tech in Hospital setting.
